The Neighbourhood’s Jesse Rutherford has a hardcore band now

If you’ve been wondering why The Neighbourhood has been so quiet these days, so have we! We (and by we, we mean Summer Justice) did some digging.

Some background: The Neighbourhood graced us with their first single (and first song they ever wrote as a band,) “Sweater Weather” back in 2013 and it was a hit. We still have it in our rotation to this day! Then came the Chip Chrome & the Mono-Tones era. Summer Justice got to chat with singer Jesse Rutherford back in 2021, about that new album. (See below:)

So what has the band been up to since? Jesse Rutherford and Billie Eilish became a couple for a short while, and since that’s been over, it appears that Rutherford has embarked on a new journey in the harcore scene with a new hardcore band called, Valley Girl. So who is Valley Girl? Not much is known but check out a demo and a live performance from January.

As far as The Neighbourhood, their future as a band, or what they’ve been working on, we haven’t heard a peep. But as always we’ll keep you posted!
