Cypress Hill will make their “Simpsons” appearance and orchestra joke a reality with the Colorado Symphony
Cypress Hill will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1993 second album ‘Black Sunday'
In 1996, Cypress Hill starred in an episode of The Simpsons where Homer wants to prove to Bart and Lisa that he’s still cool, so he takes them to Hullabalooza. The festival boasted artists like Smashing Pumpkins and Sonic Youth, and Cypress Hill who all made cameos on the show. Homer becomes a side-show after getting cannonballed in the stomach over and over again. In one scene The Simpsons are backstage when a roadie asked, which of the acts booked the London Symphony Orchestra. When no one replied, the he accused the rap group of ordering the orchestra while high, “Cypress Hill, I’m looking in your direction.” Cypress Hill then replied, “I think we did. Do you know ‘Insane in the Brain’?”
Now, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1993 second album ‘Black Sunday’ they are going to make fiction a reality, starting with the Colorado Symphony in Denver at Ball Arena July 20, and later meeting up with the London Symphony Orchestra.
