Morissey selling all business interests in The Smiths
Founding member and frontman of iconic 80s band The Smiths is selling his business interests in the band citing bad blood between him and his former bandmates. He said the only way to resolve ongoing conflicts with Johnny Marr, Mike Joyce and the late Andy Rourke is to cut them out of his life.
He announced the sale on his website. The sale includes their name, all recordings, songs, merchandise, lyrics, and all artwork Morrissey created for the band.
The Smiths dissolved in 1987 due to internal conflicts. Morrissey went on to have a successful solo career, albeit marred by strongly controversial associations and statements.
