Co-Founder of Bonnaroo, Jonathan Mayers, Dies at 51

Jonathan Mayers, who co-founded the Bonnaroo and Outside Lands music festivals, and Superfly Entertainment, has died just days before the festival, according to the Bonnaroo Music Festival. He was 51.
The inaugural Bonnaroo festival has not only played to a sold-out 70,000 person venue but also drafted a new blueprint for other music festivals in the post-Woodstock era of increased security.
Mayers was also the brainchild behind immersive comedy experiences. His team built sets from popular TV shows all over the US that allowed fans to “be a part of” their favorite shows.
Mayers’ position at Superfly was terminated in 2021 amid internal organization disagreements.
